The Lagos State Undergraduate and Postgraduate Scholarship Award scheme is overseen by the Lagos State Scholarship Board. Awards are made to indigenes of Lagos State studying in different tertiary institutions across the country as a means of providing financial assistant to such.

Eligibility Conditions for Lagos State Undergraduate and Postgraduate Scholarship Award 2015/2016

As stated earlier, this scheme is targeted exclusively at Lagos State indigenes. The following are the other requirements also expected of would-be applicants:

• Must have gained full time admission into an accredited Nigerian tertiary Institution for respective levels of study.
• All applicants must possess:
i. A minimum of 4.9/7.0 where CGPA scale is 7.0 (e.g. University of Ibadan)
ii. A minimum of 3.5/5.0 where CGPA scale is 5.0 (e.g. University of Lagos)
iii. A Minimum of 2.8/4.0 here CGPA scale is 4.0 (e.g. polytechnics and colleges of education)
iv. Where applicant is a medical student in 200L, option i, ii and iii applies
v. Where applicant is a medical student in 300L and above a minimum of Credit is required in their result
• Must be in their second year or above
• Must have completed LASRRA Registration
• Must have a signed letter of identification from their respective Oba
• Must have a signed letter of identification from their respective local government

What’s to know about Shell University Scholarship Award 2015?

This scholarship award scheme is open to first-year undergraduates in all universities in Nigeria, albeit the awards are often made when such students are already in the second year of study. Shell University Scholarship Award 2015 is the brainchild of the Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) of Nigeria Limited, operator of the NNPC/Shell/TEPN/Agip Joint Venture. Under the scheme, an annual grant is provided to successful applicants for the full duration of their undergraduate programme. The organisers wish to promote academic excellence and enhance skill levels of young people in Nigeria.

Shell University Scholarship Award 2015 is offered in two categories: National Merit Award and Areas of Operation Merit Award.

National Merit Award – This category is open to universities undergraduates that hail from any of the states in Nigeria.

Areas of Operation Merit Award – Only students who hail from Shell’s areas of operations are eligible to apply in this category. Eastern area of operation covers Abia, Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa (excluding Ekeremor and Sagbama LGA indigenes), Imo and Rivers. MTN Foundation Scholarship Scheme 2015/2016 is targeted at full-time, second-year students in Nigerian public tertiary institutions – universities, polytechnics and colleges of education. The scholarship scheme is particular biased towards those students studying technology and sciences courses. Successful candidates in the MTN Foundation Scholarship Scheme 2015/2016 will be awarded the sum of N200,000 each to cover tuition fees, books and stipends for a session. The PTDF Geosciences Training Programme (GTP) 2015 appears to be the inaugural edition of this training scheme, which is ‘designed to increase local capacities for geosciences knowledge, application and analytical skills in the oil and gas industry.’ The PTDF Geosciences Training Programme (GTP) 2015 is a five-month training programme aimed at Nigerian graduates of geology or geosciences discipline.
