About the Scholarship

This programme was originally targeted at the host communities of Nigeria LNG Limited (NLNG) at inception in 1998. It was extended to the rest of the country five years later. Since its creation, the education intervention programme has seen awards being made to more than 2,800 undergraduates, according to the sponsor. Beneficiaries enjoy financial support for the entire duration of their study programme. Interestingly, the award amount has been increased to N300,000 per awardee for each academic session – up from N100,000.

Are You Eligible?

NLNG says the following are the requirements for those interested in the Nigeria LNG Limited Undergraduate Scholarship Award 2017:

• Be a full-time 100-level student in any university in Nigeria
• Have excellent or very good O’ Level results at ONE sitting
• Be a top scorer in the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination (whatever that means)
• Not currently benefitting from any other scholarship award
• Not be a direct relative of an NLNG employee

How and When Do You Apply?

According to NLNG, interested candidates are to follow the steps below to apply:

– Visit the NLNG website
– Click on ‘Our CSR’ menu
– Select ‘Education’ from the drop-down menu and click on the Scholarship link on the displayed page

You will be redirected to the scholarship portal. There you will need to provide scanned copies of the following along with your completed application:

• Passport photographs
• WASC/NECO result
• JAMB result
• University admission letter
• Student ID card
• Local government area (LGA) letter of identification

About the Scholarship

The NWAG scholarships for female undergraduates in Nigeria have been offered annually since the early 2000s. They are the brainchild of an Atlanta, Georgia-based non-profit organisation called the Nigerian Women Association of Georgia (NWAG). The group offers scholarship to a female student from each of the states in the country, including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), every year. The awards are not restricted to those in universities; female students in other tertiary institutions are also eligible.

Successful applicants for the 2017 NWAG scholarships for female undergraduates in Nigeria will get Naira equivalence of $200 each. Please note that these are one-time scholarships.

Eligibility Conditions

The requirements for you to be able to apply for the 2017 NWAG scholarships for female undergraduates in Nigeria are:

• Be a Nigerian from any state of the Federation
• Be a female student in any tertiary institution within the country

• A typed explanation no longer than half-page on why you think you should be considered for the scholarship
• A double-spaced, typed, two-page long essay on the topic, “Women are marginalized in leadership positions in Nigeria,” writing from the perspective of a woman activist and proposing how to advocate rights of women in government and challenge gender discrimination and early/child marriage

About the Shell University Scholarship Award

The Shell Nigeria University Scholarship award scheme is open to current second-year undergraduates in all universities in Nigeria. Shell Nigeria Undergraduate Scholarships 2016-2017 is an educational support initiative of the Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) of Nigeria Limited, operator of the NNPC/Shell/TEPN/Agip Joint Venture. Under the scheme, an annual grant is provided to successful applicants for the full duration of their undergraduate programmes. The organisers wish to promote academic excellence and enhance skill levels of young people in Nigeria.

Shell Nigeria Undergraduate Scholarships 2016-2017 will, as usual, be made in two categories: National Merit Award and Areas of Operation Merit Award.

National Merit (NM) Award – This category is open to university undergraduates hailing from any of the states in Nigeria.

Areas of Operation Merit (OM) Award – Only students who hail from Shell’s areas of operations are eligible to apply in this category. The areas or states include Abia, Bayelsa, Delta, Imo and Rivers.

Eligibility Requirements

You need to meet the following requirements to be able to apply for the Shell Nigeria Undergraduate Scholarships 2016-2017:

– Be a Nigerian by citizenship and currently enrolled for an undergraduate or first-degree programme in an approved university anywhere within the country
– Admitted to a first-degree programme in the 2015/2016 academic session
– Possess O’ Level credit in at least seven subjects, including English Language and Mathematics
– Be a full-time undergraduate student with a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 (transcripts or official records to be attached)

Documents Required

You need to have scanned copies of the following documents ready to submit your application:

– A recent passport-sized photograph of the applicant (i.e. jpeg format, not more than 200kilobytes);
– University or JAMB (UTME or D/E) Admission Letter
– Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME) Scores
– O’ Level Result(s)
– A’ Level /OND /NCE Result(s) as applicable
– Letter of Identification from State (showing Local Government) of Origin.

If you are applying for the Areas of Operation Merit (OM) Award, you also need to submit scanned copies of letters of identification, (which must be duly stamped and signed) by:

a) The Paramount Ruler of the Community; and
b) The Chairman of the Community Development or Executive Council (CDC or CEC)

The letters should be addressed to The Manager, Social Investment, Shell Petroleum Development Company, Prodeco 5, Room 10, Shell Industrial Area, Rumubiakani, Port Harcourt.

NOTE: The size of EACH scanned document should not be larger than 200KB and must be saved in JPEG (.jpg) format.

Registration has to be done with a valid email address and phone number – this must be emphasized as some applicants do take such things for granted. Interested undergraduates in Nigerian universities have until Friday 2 December, 2016 to get their applications in. You obviously do not have a lot of time, so hurry!

The Agip Nigeria Undergraduate Scholarships 2016 is a part of Nigerian Agip Oil Company Limited (NAOC) Joint Venture’s Corporate Social Responsibility. The awards under the scheme are made in two categories, namely:

• Host Communities Merit Award (for NAOC Host Communities)
• National Merit Award

Eligibility

You must meet the following requirements to be eligible to apply for the Agip Nigeria Undergraduate Scholarships 2016:

• Be a registered, full-time undergraduate in a recognised tertiary institution in Nigeria
• Must be in your first year of study (100 level)
• Must be an indigene of NAOC Host Communities located in Bayelsa, Delta, Imo and Rivers (for the Host Communities Merit Award)
• Must be studying an Engineering, Geology, Geosciences or Agricultural Science course (for the National Merit Award)

Please note that those in their second year of study and above at the time of application are not eligible. Current beneficiaries of other similar awards and dependants of those associated with NAOC/NAE/AENR are also ineligible.

About the Scholarship

The Atlanta, Georgia-based NWAG is a non-profit organisation, established in year 2000 by Mrs. Dayo Keshi, wife of the then Consul General, and a handful of other women. The main mission of NWAG is to empower women as well as children and youth in the United States and their native country, Nigeria. From its inception to last year, the association has awarded one-time scholarships to more than 405 female undergraduates and over 40 in the United States.

Eligibility for the 2016 NWAG Scholarships for Female Undergraduates in Nigeria

To be eligible for this scholarship worth a one-time amount of N50,000, you only need to be a female Nigerian student studying within the country. A total of 37 one-time scholarships are on offer for the 2016 NWAG Scholarships for Female Undergraduates in Nigeria – one for each of the 36 states in the country and one for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

About the Scholarship Award

These scholarships are offered by Bode Amao Foundation (BAF), a non-profit organisation which has been in existence since 2002. They are funded by Chief Bode Amao (OON) to the glory of God and service of humanity and are offered to students from all geopolitical zones of Nigeria. The awards are good from the time of issue right until graduation. The Foundation says 143 students have benefitted from the scheme since inception.

Eligibility Conditions for Bode Amao Foundation Scholarships 2015/2016

In order to qualify to apply for the Bode Amao Foundation Scholarships 2015/2016, you must meet the conditions stated below.

* Be a bonafide registered undergraduate student in any of the following higher institutions of learning:

About ASMAF Undergraduate Scholarship

This scholarship program is Ajesola Solarin Majekodunmi Foundation’s own way of assisting brilliant female undergraduates across Nigeria that are finding it hard to meet their financial needs. The ASMAF undergraduate scholarship aims at enabling these students acquire essential leadership and life skills. The foundation said the scholarships have been awarded since the 2010/2011 academic year across the different geo-political zones in Nigeria.
