The Nigerian Women Association of Georgia (NWAG) is currently calling for applications from female undergraduates in the country for the opportunity of being awarded NWAG scholarships for female undergraduates to help out with their expenses in school.
The Atlanta, Georgia-based non-profit organisation was established in year 2000 by Mrs. Dayo Keshi, wife of then Consul General. The main mission of NWAG is to empower women as well as children and youth in the United States and their native country, Nigeria. From its inception to last year, the association has awarded one-time scholarships to more than 405 female undergraduates and over 40 in the United States.
To be eligible for this scholarship worth a one-time amount of N50,000, you only need to be a female Nigerian student studying within the country. A total of 37 one-time scholarships are on offer – one for each of the 36 states in the country and one for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). The current president of the association encourages female undergraduates from under-represented states and tertiary institutions to apply for this year’s scholarships as well.
Deadline for submission of applications is on through May 30, 2015. More information on the scholarships can be obtained from here.
Why not try your luck if you are qualified? You just can never tell how lucky you might be.
