Leagoo Elite 5 – Specs, Features and Price Information

Leagoo Elite 5 is an Android smartphone seemingly built to compete with battery-laden smartphones out there, an increasing number of which we have seen recently. The handset offers a high-capacity battery, a huge HD display, a quad-core processor and 4G LTE while also doubling as a universal remote control.

Design and Display

If you do not know already, the Leagoo Elite 5 is a low-end phone in terms of price. This makes it a bit surprising to see it possess a very durable build. It parades robust aluminium-titanium alloy support, which Leagoo says improves its bending strength by 50 percent in comparison to regular materials. The Elite 5 crams in a massive 5.5-inch display sporting very thin bezels for enhanced viewing. The touchscreen has a resolution of 1,280 x 720 pixels. A rather lowly pixel density of 267 ppi will certainly not bring the best out of the IPS panel.

Camera and Storage

The Leagoo Elite 5 comes with a 13-megapixel Sony ‘professional’ rear camera. The snapper, which features flashlight support, supposedly offers fast imaging and comes with a panorama mode for optimising images. The 8-megapixel selfie shooter provided is equally commendable. For storing your photos and other stuffs, the phone offers 16 GB of inbuilt storage. You can expand the storage space by up to 32 GB using a T-Flash card.

Processor, RAM and Operating System

A quad-core processor is placed in charge of all the heavy lifting on the Elite 5. This CPU gets decent support from RAM of 2GB capacity to enable it render respectable level of performance. As usual, this Leagoo phone boots its maker’s own software – a newer LEAGOO OS 1.1. This custom variant of 64-bit Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system has a guest mode and offers improved battery life amongst other benefits.

Other Features

The headline feature of the Leagoo Elite 5 is probably its 4,000mAh Li-Polymer juicer. This behemoth supports what Leagoo calls LFC flash charge technology, which helps to get the battery up to 45% level in 30 minutes of charging. The phablet supports reverse charging making it possible for you use it as a power bank for other devices.

The Elite 5 can work on 4G LTE mobile networks for awesome browsing and download speeds. It also offers a universal infrared remote control function to enable you control different electronic gadgets in your home with it.

Pricing and Availability

The Leagoo Elite 5 can be bought at a price around N40,000 in Nigeria – how much more or less you pay will be depend on where you are buying from. But if you’d rather import this phablet by yourself, you could get it for as low as $110 online, if you have access to cheap foreign exchange. It is priced to compete in the same range as the likes of the Meizu m3 and LeEco Le 1s –  it is safe to say it is in for serious competition in these.
