About the Scholarship

This programme was originally targeted at the host communities of Nigeria LNG Limited (NLNG) at inception in 1998. It was extended to the rest of the country five years later. Since its creation, the education intervention programme has seen awards being made to more than 2,800 undergraduates, according to the sponsor. Beneficiaries enjoy financial support for the entire duration of their study programme. Interestingly, the award amount has been increased to N300,000 per awardee for each academic session – up from N100,000.

Are You Eligible?

NLNG says the following are the requirements for those interested in the Nigeria LNG Limited Undergraduate Scholarship Award 2017:

• Be a full-time 100-level student in any university in Nigeria
• Have excellent or very good O’ Level results at ONE sitting
• Be a top scorer in the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) examination (whatever that means)
• Not currently benefitting from any other scholarship award
• Not be a direct relative of an NLNG employee

How and When Do You Apply?

According to NLNG, interested candidates are to follow the steps below to apply:

– Visit the NLNG website
– Click on ‘Our CSR’ menu
– Select ‘Education’ from the drop-down menu and click on the Scholarship link on the displayed page

You will be redirected to the scholarship portal. There you will need to provide scanned copies of the following along with your completed application:

• Passport photographs
• WASC/NECO result
• JAMB result
• University admission letter
• Student ID card
• Local government area (LGA) letter of identification

If you are planning to apply for the Nigeria LNG Limited Undergraduate Scholarship Award 2017, make sure you do that before 30 April, 2017.

The Lagos State Undergraduate and Postgraduate Scholarship Award scheme is overseen by the Lagos State Scholarship Board. Awards are made to indigenes of Lagos State studying in different tertiary institutions across the country as a means of providing financial assistant to such.

Eligibility Conditions for Lagos State Undergraduate and Postgraduate Scholarship Award 2015/2016

As stated earlier, this scheme is targeted exclusively at Lagos State indigenes. The following are the other requirements also expected of would-be applicants:

• Must have gained full time admission into an accredited Nigerian tertiary Institution for respective levels of study.
• All applicants must possess:
i. A minimum of 4.9/7.0 where CGPA scale is 7.0 (e.g. University of Ibadan)
ii. A minimum of 3.5/5.0 where CGPA scale is 5.0 (e.g. University of Lagos)
iii. A Minimum of 2.8/4.0 here CGPA scale is 4.0 (e.g. polytechnics and colleges of education)
iv. Where applicant is a medical student in 200L, option i, ii and iii applies
v. Where applicant is a medical student in 300L and above a minimum of Credit is required in their result
• Must be in their second year or above
• Must have completed LASRRA Registration
• Must have a signed letter of identification from their respective Oba
• Must have a signed letter of identification from their respective local government

Application and Deadline

Please note that you are required to pay the sum of N2,000 to obtain the application form for the Lagos State Undergraduate and Postgraduate Scholarship Award 2015/2016. The form can be obtained at:

After making necessary payment, you are expected to proceed to the Scholarship Board office at 254, Ipaja Road, Agege, Lagos to obtain your voucher PIN.

Scanned copies of the documents below will be required when making your application online:

i. Admission Letter
ii. School identity card or valid means of school identification
iii. Letter of identification from Oba
iv. Letter of identification from Local Government
v. SSCE result
vi. Lagos State Resident Registration Agency (LASSRA) registration card
vii. Passport Photograph (clear background not older than three months).
viii. Transcript or Result statement duly signed and stamped from school stating previous session
CGPA results clearly. Postgraduate applicants will need to submit relevant degree certificate or statement of result.

Interested students hailing from Lagos State have until 1st April, 2016 to get in their applications for the Lagos State Undergraduate and Postgraduate Scholarship Award 2015/2016.

Selection

Selection test for shortlisted applicants will be organised in collaboration with Dragnet Solutions Limited on 12th and 13th April, 2016. It will be a computer-based test (CBT). You will be informed via email and text message if you are shortlisted for the Lagos State Undergraduate and Postgraduate Scholarship Award 2015/2016 test. Successful candidates are also expected to take part in an oral interview.
