In addition to the NWAG scholarship scheme, the Peace Corps Nigeria Alumni Foundation Young Women Scholarship 2016 is another programme channelled towards rendering financial assistance to brilliant, but needy female students of Nigerian origin. Read on to find out if it’s worth applying for an award.
About the Scholarship
This is an annual scholarship award made by the Peace Corps Nigeria Alumni Foundation (PCNAF), which says the need for it was informed by the disparity in literacy rate between men and women in the country. The foundation emphasises the importance of the female child education towards attainment of development in the country. With a view to encouraging female literacy in Nigeria, it says it has been offering scholarships to Nigerian girls since 2003.
Who Can Apply?
Although this is a Nigerian scholarship scheme, awards will only be made to those female students studying or planning to study in select universities in the United States.
