As part of its mandate to transform the Nigerian economy into one driven by information technology (IT), the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) is requesting applications from eligible candidates for the 2016/2017 edition of its postgraduate scholarship scheme.
The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) postgraduate scholarships commenced in 2010 with a view to bridging the digital divide and improving the global competitiveness of the Nigerian economy. The scholarships are offered to candidates pursuing Master’s (M.Sc) and Doctorate (Ph.D) degrees in study areas related to information technology (IT).
Unlike as was the case in last year’s edition, the NITDA postgraduate scholarships will only be offered for study in domestic universities (public or private). This is obviously as a result of present economic crunch that has been so much talked about.

The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) postgraduate scholarships are said to be awarded based on merit and all sections of the country are covered. The Ph.D awards are distributed equally among the six Geo-political zones in the country, while the M.Sc scholarships are awarded evenly among the 36 states of the federation and the FCT.
