The Huawei G Power (also marketed as the Huawei Y6 Pro) is a cool smartphone designed for those users who desire being able to spend more time enjoying their devices than looking for a place to give it a boost. The main highlight of the phone is its behemoth battery that may also be used as a power bank.
Design and Display
The phone flaunts a design which Huawei says was influenced by the ripples of water. It is made using more than 5,000 water ripple elements and offers a curve touch that makes it fit nicely into your hand. The construction is strengthened with metal frames. The thickness is put at 8.5 millimetres, making for a relatively slim device. The Huawei G Power sports a 5-inch diagonal display with an HD resolution of 1,280 x 720 pixels and approximately 294ppi pixel density for decent viewing.
Camera and Storage
The G Power appears ready to deliver some great shots with a combination of 13-megapixel rear-facing camera and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. It should meet the needs of selfie addicts with wide-angle shots. It will have 16 GB of onboard storage, but it appears there may be units with 8GB storage, although this is not certain yet. MicroSD storage expansion will be supported as well.
Power and Performance
With a quad-core MediaTek MT6735 processor in charge of business, the Huawei G Power should deliver decent performance and enjoyable multitasking. This promise is further assured with the provision of 2 GB of RAM to provide backing for the CPU clocked at 1.3 GHz. The smartphone runs off Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system, which offers you access to many great features and apps.
Sundry Specs and Features
The Huawei G Power will be accompanied by a massive 4,000mAh battery, which the Chinese phone manufacturer promises will deliver talk time of up to 39 hours. The juicer supports fast charging, with a 10-minute charge supposedly enough to get you talking for up to three hours. It also supports reverse charging allowing you to use it as power bank for your other small devices.
It supports 4G LTE connectivity and offers a dual-SIM feature. The phone will also come with Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n with Wi-Fi Direct and hotspot for your wireless connectivity requirements.
Information on price and availability of the Huawei G Power is not yet available at this time. But, the device is expected to make its appearance soon. Huawei has announced a partnership with Jumia for the sale of the phone in Nigeria. The device will have to fight for market share with the likes of the Gionee Marathon M5 Mini and Marathon M4 on battery capacity.
